LOIA is hosting a winter retreat — where the vibes are snow gay, snow good, and snow much fun. Chill with us to warm your soul!
We’ve heard the community ask for something to bridge the time between Fall Camp and Spring Camp, and we’re excited to try something new. This winter retreat is our pilot offering, designed to bring connection, rest, and queer joy into the colder months when we tend to need it most.
FYI - Space is limited in our main location this first year, but don’t let that stop you from expressing interest. If we hit capacity, there are nearby accommodations we can add on so more folks can join us — just reach out and let’s chat about what’s possible.
Expect cozy vibes, good company, playful activities, and the warm community spirit that defines LOIA. Come be part of shaping this new tradition with us!

Winter Activities in Okoboji:
There are so many winter activities in Okoboji – making the Iowa Great Lakes a year round destination! You can choose to explore hundreds of miles of groomed trails for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking and observing winter birds! You’ll also find indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, or bundle up and head to the beach to build snow-castles! And, don’t forget about the fun of the catch while ice fishing! House Rules
- Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. During this time, please remember to be considerate of your neighbors. No obnoxious activity shall be carried on in any area of the complex. Knowingly or negligently, it may be an annoyance to other occupants.
- No pets are allowed.
- No smoking is allowed anywhere indoors. If you smoke outside, do not throw any materials on the ground. Dispose of all materials in a safe manner.
- There is ample parking on the property. If you should need more parking, you’re welcome to park in the ReMax parking lot.
- Do not block either entrances or the sidewalk with your vehicles.
- Before you go, please take off sheets and pillowcases. Put all wet towels in the showers. Put garbage in the dumpster behind the Staycation.

☕ Mug Swap — Bring a mug you’re ready to pass along — one that’s meaningful, quirky, or simply ready for a new home. We’ll swap mugs together and use our new ones all weekend
📚 Book Swap — Bring a book that has mattered to you and offer it to the community. You’ll have the chance to share why it’s meaningful (if you wish), then choose a book someone else is ready to pass along.

Queen Rooms - $150
King Rooms - $200
One king room located upstairs, furnished with a king bed, dresser, TV, and linens. Guests on this level share a small living room and two full bathrooms, offering both privacy and convenient common spaces. Rooms include cost for 2.
Queen/Queen Bunks - $200
Both the upstairs and downstairs bunkrooms are furnished with queen-over-queen bunk beds, providing generous sleeping space for pairs or solo sleepers who appreciate a larger mattress. Cost includes 4.
Queen Suite - $300
This suite is located off of the gathering area. It includes one queen bedroom, connected to a bedroom which includes one twin bed and a twin/twin bunk bed.
King Suite - $350
Queen bedroom is a walkthrough access to King Bedroom. This is NOT an independently private space, as it includes one of the downstairs bathrooms. This bedroom is located immediately off of the group gathering space.
